When I first arrived at the Wolf Sanctuary of PA in April, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a cold, rainy day with temperatures in the forties. I shivered as the tour guide led us around the property, telling us about each wolf. Unlike those of us who huddled under umbrellas, the wolves didn't mind the cold at all. They loved the attention and the treats, captivating us with a long howl prompted by the wolf dubbed the Sanctuary's "social director" by the tour guide. I learned that a wolf's howl doesn't echo and that their bite pressure is stronger than a lion's. It was an amazing experience, and I hope to make another visit soon.
